

Applying Research Experience in a College Classroom
Research is a fundamental part of my college career. Not just in my undergraduate research, but I also am able to apply my research skills in my classes as well. In a media research class that I shared with a fellow researcher, Zoie, we already had basic knowledge on how to pull articles and outline for a major group project report. Gaining academic writing, data collecting, presenting, and other skills through undergraduate research is a great way to improve works in college


All My Research Firsts
Before joining Diverse Student Scholars, I never had experience in extensive research, been on a plane, or traveled to other states. I’ve gained so many opportunities to present at conferences and have been able to travel to different cities like Pittsburgh and Chicago. The experience allowed me to develop my communication skills as well as improved my confidence. My first time on the plane was to a Marketing Management Association conference in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. There

I thought I was over my head doing research as my first job in college. With no prior experience, I often felt lost when working. To say the least, I felt really unqualified for the position.
